TED TALKS to recharge your WHY

This post is dedicated to you reclaiming your why. This work we do in education can be difficult. We give our whole selves daily to students and families without being sure of the immediate impact of our efforts. As educators, we show up day after day hoping  that our efficacy will be made plain for all to see when kids turn around, families embrace us, and our staff walks through the hallways singing our praises. Still, there are days when it is just difficult to push through and remember what makes it all worth it. When I have days like that, I watch (you guessed it) my motivational Ted Talk playlist to keep my head in the game! I have shared some of the best ones here with you. Take all that you need; we (and the other educators on these videos) are in this together! There are WONDERFUL things happening out there and courageous people making them happen. Fall down a TED TALK rabbit hole with me. I am sure you will be glad you did. Remember, to lead is to constantly learn and while others may not tell you the truth, I always will. You have to remember that this is heart work, and even on days it gets difficult know that you are a needed part of a greater community of educators all fighting the same fight.  – Dr. Kia
